Biomedical Imaging

Overview

During the last decade microscopy became a major instrumentation generating many new insights in biology and life sciences. We are investigating new approaches in fluorescence microscopy, multiphoton microscopy (based on novel concepts for functional imaging) and multimodal instrumentation including imaging beyond the diffraction limit.

Laser Doppler Imaging allows monitoring microcirculation, and indirectly, the body regulation system with various applications in medicine and medical research. Recent research efforts have been used for monitoring induced blood flow response during neurosurgery.
